Coronavirus Update #8
HCT pushes pause on in-person worship. The health and safety of our congregation is the number one priority of Shady Grove's Healthy Church Team. At their weekly meeting on Wednesday, December 9, the team decided that due to the increase in COVID-19 cases across the region and a high positivity rate in Hanover County, Shady Grove will be pausing in-person worship until the positivity rate drops below 10% for a seven day period.

We know many of you may be disappointed and the team is too, but we will show love to our neighbors by staying home and keeping each other safe. We hope you will join us Sundays at 9:45 a.m. for Worship Online at shadygroveumc.org/worshiponline, on the Boxcast App on Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV, or by calling 877-476-8319 to hear the service live over the phone.

Make a Difference for CARITAS this holiday season!

2. Create Giving Tree Gift Bags
Share the spirit of the holidays with CARITAS clients by assembling a gift bag with a specific list of items.  The bags include snuggly pajamas, socks, and earplugs -- little comforts during this time of year.  There are also opportunities to purchase items that the clients can share with their children during the holidays.  Complete details are listed on the online sign-up form.  Order items online and have them delivered to your home. Drop them off on December 22 during our contactless Jingle Bell Drive Through.  Sign up for a gift bag here.  For questions, email volunteer@caritasva.org.
