growing together

McShin Foundation

Founded in 2004, The McShin Foundation is Virginia’s leading non-profit, full-service Recovery Community Organization (RCO), committed to serving individuals and families in their fight against Substance Use Disorders.

Through designated donations by individuals, Shady Grove United Methodist Church has given funding to the McShin Foundation, which McShin used to open the first Hanover Recovery House. The ongoing efforts by the McShin Support Team of Shady Grove work to show God’s love through our support and acceptance of the residents of the recovery house.
The team’s focus:
Phase 1 – immediate and ongoing physical needs
Phase 2 – larger scale house needs
Phase 3 – spiritual/community connection opportunity
We are currently accepting needed items for the McShin Hanover House.  All items can be brought to the Missions Zone, located in the connector hallway between the gym and the education building. Needed supplies include: toilet paper, dish detergent, wet Swiffer-type pads for mopping, bathroom cleaning supplies,  laundry detergent, dryer sheets, deodorant,  shampoo/conditioner, feminine hygiene products, cotton swabs,  body wash, loofah sponges, & hand soap.
Please contact Josie Voorhies for more information.
