Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter CARITAS is a faith response that provides for the most basic needs of people who are suffering
Food and shelter – CARITAS Shelter
Home furnishings – CARITAS Furniture Bank
Employment – CARITAS Works
Our church has participated in the CARITAS program for over 20 years. CARITAS is the largest emergency shelter program in our community and focuses on transitioning single adults and families from homelessness to independence by helping them find jobs and shelter. We provide shelter twice annually; in the spring we have a family focus and in the winter we house a men focus. SGUMC volunteers range in ages from 5 years to 75+. Below is a list of ways you can help.
