Youth Missions

High School Hurricane Relief Trip
August 4-10, 2019
Cost: $100.00
Deadline: February 1, 2019
Open to youth in grades 9-12 (2018-19 academic year)
Current 9th-12th graders—you saw the power of Hurricane Florence as it swept up the east coast. Next summer, August 4-10, 2019, you can join a team to go to Fayetteville, NC to help with the rebuilding and recovery effort. We will be staying at Haymount United Methodist Church, and serving in the Fayetteville area. It is likely we will be in the reconstruction phase, so possibly painting, drywall, window replacement, or flooring projects. This is a great chance to respond to this devastating storm.
We also need some skilled adults to attend the trip to help supervise projects.
To register, please return the North Carolina Conference waiver and medical forms (PDF) to Dwayne, along with a check (payable to Shady Grove UMC) for $100.00 by February 1, 2019.

Youth Summer Mission Trips 2019
Middle school youth will spend the week of July 21-27, 2019 in Romney, WV, serving through The Jeremiah Project. A team of 12 youth and adults is already registered, but it is likely that we may add team members. Otherwise, you may join a waiting list for slots that may open up on or after February 1.
The summer mission trip for high school youth is still in the planning stages, but will likely include relief work to help with rebuilding efforts from Hurricane Florence in North Carolina.
