The Games from Above: Part 2: Press On — Pastor Jay Kelchner
The Olympic Games have a lofty purpose in that they are meant to promote peace and unity within the international community which otherwise might be troubled. As Christians, we recognize this ideal as being consistent with God’s way. The Apostle Paul, who loved the games, often used athletic metaphors to explain the timeless power of the Gospel. We are called to persevere in the midst of adversity and press on – to hold out until the end. At the end of our race in life we want to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant.” This sermon will explore that ideal From Above and these concepts through the lens of The Games.
